It is a way of helping align and balance the various parts of your body when you move, working with the dynamics of your neuromuscular skeletal system. The Alexander Technique can help you become more mindful of the way go about your daily activities and make beneficial changes.

I qualified as an Alexander Technique teacher in March 2025 having completed three years training at the Manchester Alexander Technique Training School and have been teaching the Technique regularly since then.
I started learning for myself in 2009 following a cycle accident which resulted in some spinal cord damage. I lost the use of my arms for several days but as I gradually recovered their use I suffered with nerve pains. These pains have gradually diminished as a result of the lessons. Another significant benefit for me of lessons over several years, has been that a spinal curvature that was developing as I aged has reversed somewhat and I am much more mobile throughout my whole spine from the top of my neck to the bottom of my back.
